St. Clerans Manor House, County Galway, Ireland
St. Clerans' grandeur and timelessness offers its
guests the experience of the bygone era of
enjoying a relaxed pace amid luxury and
sophistication. Sitting on 45 acres of Galway
countryside, this 18th Century manor house is just
two kilometers outside the village of Craughwell
and 18 kilometers east of the town of Galway.
Immediately upon entering St. Clerans, guests will
fall under its spell and feel the history. The stately
entrance hall leads into the magnificent drawing
room, furnished with John Huston’s sundial on the
ceiling, crystal chandeliers and a grand piano.
Open fires are a feature throughout the house and
contribute to the cosy atmosphere the Manor
exudes.
In the dining room, which accommodates up to 40,
guests will be seated at a table adorned with fine
china, silver candlesticks, and be surrounded by
beautiful views. Guests may enjoy the finest of
European and Oriental cuisine accompanied by
friendly and professional service. Guests may
choose from the inspiring French–Japanese
influenced menu of the evening. Well-known
Japanese chef, Hisashi Kumagai, who is an
institution in himself, has been with the House
since 1998 and produces some of the most
creative dishes in Western Europe.
All of the House's twelve deluxe guest suites
possess a unique character, atmosphere and
style, and have been decorated with a blend of
luxury, tradition and imagination. Contemporary
colors and facilities blend with elegant period
furnishings to present a classic effect. A luxury
bathroom is en suite to each room, and each is
equipped with a two-line telephone, remote control
television, CD/DVD and VCR players, high speed
Internet access, and personalised suite stationery.
The master "Griffin Suite" commands fabulous
views across the Galway countryside. The
"Angelica Suite" is situated in a charming cottage
just steps from the House.
St. Clerans is an ideal location for those looking
for a luxurious and relaxing escape, a unique
