Casa Barrigona, Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica
Casa Barrigona is one of three wonderful villas set
on a private 500 acre beachfront estate on the
west coast of the Nicoya Penninsula.
Perched high atop a hill, this superb villa
comprises a main house with two spacious
bedrooms, two baths, living and dining areas and
a fully equipped kitchen. The lower terrace offers a
private swimming pool and access to a thatched
rancho which contains the third bedroom. This
tree-top level rancho is a nature lover's delight with
hummingbirds feeding each morning on the
flowering trees.
Casa Barrigona is beautifully furnished with 19th
century prints, antique pieces and hand-woven
rugs placed on Spanish and Italian tiles under
soaring twenty-two foot ceilings of precious wood.
It is perfectly placed to catch the cool breezes and
amazing evening views of the stars appearing over
the mountain.
A splendid sixty-foot verandah off the main villa
offers a spectacular view and serves as an al
fresco living area. From this beautiful vantage
point, one can witness a myriad of Costa Rican
birds and an almost daily visit by Howler monkeys
who feed on their favorite fruit only twenty feet from
the verandah.
Guests may enjoy candlelight dining at the estate's
private (not open to the public) open-air restaurant,
La Hacienda, which features International cuisine.
Prices and menus vary. The restaurant is within
easy walking distance of the villa.
The estate offers trails through the jungle, and a
five minute walk leads to the pristine white sand
beach. Rental of surfboards, kayaks, ATVs,
mountain bikes and horses are available on-site.
In-shore and deep-sea fishing, canopy tours,
ultralite flying, dolphin watching, surfing lessons,
snorkeling expeditions, guided horse-back tours,
massage and yoga can also easily be arranged.
Maid service is provided six days per week. The
estate's manager and host are available to assist
guests with tour arrangements and recreational
activities.
Casa Barrigona is located near the villages of
Garza, Samara and Nosara which offer a variety of
restaurants, shops, grocery stores and bakeries.
For larger groups, the estate’s three bedroom
Casa Dorada, and/or seven bedroom Casa
Guanacaste may be rented together with
Barrigona. The villas are an approximate three –
five minute walk from each other.
Please Note:
A van and on-site, on-call driver are available 24
hours per day at the following rates:
*$130 per day (or $1080 per week) for an 8
passenger van with driver
*$165 per day (or $1320 per week) for a 15
passenger van with driver
Phone rentals are available.
Food and beverages are not included in the rates
for this villa. Guests may purchase a meal plan at
$75 per adult per day that includes three meals
and all beverages including alcohol but not
including wines and champagne.
Weekly rentals are accepted Saturday – Saturday.
